Naturally, one of the major attractions of living in Florida is its warm climate. Florida is known as the Sunshine State for good reason, with an average of 250 days a year of sunshine! But just exactly what is the weather like at different times of year in Cocoa, Florida, and just how hot does it get?
The winter months are a very popular time of year to be in Florida, especially if you live in a location with a harsh and cold winter climate, such as Northerners. Winters in Florida are extremely pleasant. Cocoa Beach averages a high of 70 degrees Fahrenheit from November through February, with average lows between 50 and 61. January is the coolest month, but Florida's mild winter temperatures are still pleasantly warm to those used to colder climates. The warm (but not hot) temperatures are perfect for playing tennis, fishing, visiting the beach or attractions of nearby Orlando, or simply relaxing in the sun at Maplewood Village. The warm nighttime lows mean there is no ice to contend with, relieving the worry of getting around in the winter that is common in colder climates.
Winter and springtime in Florida have another advantage, which is that the months from November to February have the lowest rainfall of the year, with only an average of 2.5-2.9 inches of rain falling. Again, this makes winter the ideal time of year to enjoy all the activities that Cocoa Beach and the surrounding area offer, and take full advantage of that sought-after Florida lifestyle.
Summertime in Cocoa Beach is naturally warmer, with average highs from 86 to 92 degrees from May through September, and lows ranging from 68 to 72. July is the warmest month. However, Cocoa Beach's location close to the ocean means that this is much cooler than areas further inland, making it still possible to enjoy all the nearby attractions. With oceanfront breezes, the heat does not become oppressive in Cocoa Beach. Rainfall is higher during these months (typically ranging from 6.6 to 7.8 inches) but is generally in the afternoons, so it is possible to plan your activities around when rain is most likely.
Overall, the mild and pleasant climate of Cocoa makes Maplewood Village your ideal Florida getaway at any time of year, especially for our friends from the north.
